Our
Story
Founded on April 1, 1996, WELFON Telecommunication opened its inaugural retail outlet on Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur. In 1998, we broadened our offering by establishing a multi-brand store at The Summit USJ, featuring premier mobile names such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens and BlackBerry.
In 2005, WELFON gained official dealer accreditation from Samsung Malaysia, initiating rapid expansion into Subang Parade, Sungai Wang, Sunway Pyramid and IOI Mall Puchong. We incorporated as WELFON Telecommunication Sdn. Bhd. in 2008, and in 2011 were appointed Samsung Master Dealer for the Central Region—covering Selangor, the Federal Territories and Negeri Sembilan.
We raised the bar in 2012 with the launch of Malaysia’s largest Samsung Experience Store (SESL) at The Gardens Mall. Our performance trajectory peaked in 2017 with annual revenues surpassing RM268 million, underscoring our operational rigor and customer-centric approach. To underpin continued growth and strategic alliances with leading electronics brands, we relocated our headquarters to Wisma Conlay in 2020, reinforcing our position at the forefront of Malaysia’s technology retail sector.
